This topic is old Oprah news but I wanted to post about it as I made my donation today. The more I see Will I Am on Oprah the more I like him. It’s still amazing to me how shy he is with all the amazing music he puts out onto the radio waves. Watching him on this episode showed that most times we don’t need a lot of words but a lot of action from a person with a big heart.
If you missed it there was an episode on Oprah last month where Will I Am paid off the mortgages of two families that were about to lose their homes. I wanted to cry watching the whole spectacular moment unfold. A business executive and a mom who had done everything right but were still hurt by the economy had their lives changed forever.
I loved it when Will I Am said that he didn’t want to wait for a disaster to help others but wanted to help those that needed it right now. I guess most stars raise funds to start their own charities but Will I Am is putting up all of his own money to get this going. Of course these actions makes me want to help him.
Watch the video to see what I think is one of the best moments on Oprah this year and go to the I Am Home website for more information on how you can help keep a family in their home.

Oprah graduated one of her children again this week. Did anyone see the finale show? Look at how well known Nate became in just 8 years. I wonder if 9 years ago Nate ever imaged this would be happening?
I like how Nate thinks. Oprah asked him “Does it feel like it’s been 8 years?” Nate replies “yes” Most people would have glossed over their true feelings and said no or I can’t believe it blah blah. The other thing that I really like about Nate is that Oprah asked him if he was nervous and Nate replied “No” That is a sign of a person that is ready to seize the world and I like it.
What was your favorite Nate moment? Mine is any moment where the dad would cry too. You know his design had an impact if you make a man sob. I also loved the dog moment during hurricane Katrina. That painful moment just makes me cry and it’s so good to see that the man and his dog had a happy ending.
The Nate Burkus show aires September 13th.

I was flipping through Oprah mag a few weeks ago and I saw this organizer on the Oprah Love That page. As soon as I saw the Lips-n-Eyes organizer I had to have it. My bathroom countertop is a royal mess lately and makes hubby angry on a daily basis. He would actually write a blog post about my bathroom clutter if I would let him.
I have purchased make up organizers in the past. I like them but they are very bulky so I end up shoving the box containing my make up under the sink. For me if my makeup is out of site then it is out of mind. I don’t have to wear it every day but I will if it’s in my face.
It’s amazing the amount of $$ that are sitting old and unused under my sink because I forgot about that great eye color or lip gloss I had purchased. Trying to fix the problem a few months ago resulted in me pulling everything out onto the counter resulting in this.
I’m using all my colors now but it took up room. After quick delivery and a 2 second set up, I’m really impressed at how little space this organizer uses. It’s built up rather than out.
There are 7 large brushes on the top, nail polish, eye colors, perfume and foundation. To my benefit there was enough room to place a few more items.
If you are into wood, the Lips-n-Eyes wooden organizer is coming. It’s beautiful and holds more items. Now I’m off to the store to buy some new gloss and cheek colors to add to the spare holes in the organizer. I couldn’t possibly leave any spaces empty.
While I’m out check out the site and buy one as a belated Mothers Day gift or for that teenage daughter who has taken over your bathroom with her clutter.
By the way there is also a large secret compartment behind the clock, it comes in 4 colors, the organizer can also be hung on the wall and if you don’t need the clock use the large space for cotton balls.

I was catching up on Oprah today and check out these stats.
1 out of 3 consumers of online pornography in this country are women. This means that 13 million women view porn online at least once a month. Apparently 70% of us are keeping it secret. Hmm I had some suspicions about a few friends. Maybe my instincts are right; yep you know who you are. We’ll talk later.
Americans spend 10 billion dollars a year on porn. Women in the pornography industry make way more than men which is a flip from the normal world. These gals start at $1500 a scene multiply that by a few scenes a week and you do the math.
Jenna Jameson is now retired and has beautiful twins. I was one of those that assumed that she had slept with hundreds of men but that is not the case. Jenna made most of her movies with her ex husband. This is why they sold so well. I guess the chemistry sucks people in because they were a loving married couple.
I thought those were some interesting stats. I guess people are shocked at how many women are viewing porn. In my opinion I feel like half of wives feel like they have to view the stuff at some point. It’s a defense mechanism to ensure keeping their husbands attention.
We live in a country where the norm is for the females to turn themselves into Barbie in order to feel pretty. With all these plastic bodies running around catching men’s eyes left and right I don’t blame a girl for staying on top of her game. I might complain about my body but I’ll never change it. On the other hand I have no issues with learning some new erotic moves to keep my sex life spicy or buying some outfits from Fredericks.
What do you make of the female porn craze?
Oprah also interviewed Violet Blue who has been researching women and erotica for some time now. According to Violet a must see is Jenna Jameson Is The Masseuse. She says that it’s so good that you will want to watch it until the end.
Read Violets surprising write up on women and porn here.
Jenna also wrote a bestselling book. When I’m done reading about Oprah Ill buy it and let you know.
